About the Experience
At Outside with Recess Village, we believe our elders deserve intentional spaces to rest, create, and be celebrated.
Bloom & Create is part of our Elder Explorers series — a collection of free experiences designed to support wellness, connection, and joy for Black elders.
This floral arrangement workshop offers more than the chance to make a bouquet.
It’s an opportunity to:

Whether you’ve arranged flowers before or this is your first time, this experience is designed to be welcoming, relaxing, and meaningful.

For many elders, especially those who have spent so much of their lives caring for others, opportunities to create simply for the joy of it can be rare.
This workshop is about making room for that joy.
It’s about expression, presence, and the quiet power of creating something beautiful in community.
What to Expect
During this guided two-hour session, participants will:
Learn the basics of floral arrangement design
Work with fresh seasonal blooms
Create a mini-vase arrangement to take home
Enjoy a relaxed and supportive group experience
All floral materials and tools will be provided.
No prior experience is needed.
